N4 Lesson 39 — Practice: Reasons & Feelings

Focus on V-て/V-なくて (emotion), Adj-くて/Adj-で + inability, N + で (result), and the polite reason ~ので.

1) V-て(emotion)

Choose the most natural way to state the reason for your feeling.

Target: V-て + feeling

2) V-なくて(emotion / apology)

“I’m sorry I’m late because I didn’t make the train.” Pick the best sentence.

3) い-Adjective → ~くて + inability

Choose the sentence that shows a state → cannot relation.

4) な-Adjective → ~で + difficulty

Pick the natural sentence.

5) N + で、結果(objective cause → result)

Best way to say “Because of a typhoon, the trains were stopped.”

6) ~ので — polite reason (asking permission)

Choose the most polite connector.

今日きょう用事ようじがある はやかえってもいいですか。

7) な-Adj negative reason → じゃなくて

Pick the natural connector.

このみち安全あんぜん こわいです。

8) Build the sentence — polite reason ~ので

Make: “I have a headache, so please let me rest today.” (〜ので + polite request)
